Ovolo Woolloomooloo:
For The Perfect Urban Wedding
If you have guests coming from overseas, interstate or just out-of-town, this is the place you want them to experience your wedding day.
Sitting upon a 100 year old wharf, Ovolo Woolloomooloo is a heritage building with the perfect backdrop - Sydney harbour. And since it is a boutique hotel, you and your guests can make a night of it with 100 guest rooms (wedding guests receive 15% discount).
For your wedding reception at The Ovolo, we recommending paying extra for long tables (instead of the standard round tables). Even though the hire cost will be more, we often find that long tables require less styling elements when compared to individual round tables. Therefore, the cost evens out and, in our opinion, long tables are much better for communial private dining.
Here’s a recent wedding we styled at Ovolo Woolloomooloo with long tables.

Tell us about the Kitchen Table
Popular for indoor wedding ceremonies, the Kitchen Table is actually one of Ovolo's reception spaces. It just so happens to be shaped like a chapel yet remains 100% religiously-neutral. It is, however, designed for smaller wedding receptions with a maximum capacity of 30 pax in a banquet setting and 150 in a cocktail setting.
Tell us about the Piper Room
Industrial chic with high ceilings and original wooden beams and flooring with sophisticated metallic light pendants - the Piper Room has a maximum capacity of 120 pax in banquet arrangement, and 150 pax in cocktail formation.
Tell us more about The Burbs
For a banquet arrangement, The Burbs can seat up to 100 guests. This also includes an area for a dance floor (because what is a wedding without dancing?). The Burbs can also accommodate 150 guests in a cocktail arrangement if you do not prefer a formal sit-down meal.
What is the Piper Rooms then?
Ah. The Piper Rooms is when you need more space and we combine both the Piper Room and The Burbs. It caters for 180 pax in a banquet setting (with adequate dance floor) or 300 pax in cocktail arrangement.
Is there on-site parking available?
There is limited parking in the area and most are for short periods of time. Valet parking is available for all wedding guests. Alternatively, there is Secure Parking - The Wharf Woolloomooloo Car Park.

Why We Recommend Ovolo Woolloomooloo
Ovolo makes a donation to the Woolloomooloo Police Community Scholarship Foundation for every wedding held on the wharf. This provides disadvantaged and Indigenous children within the area an opportunity to gain scholarships to high schools that best suit their needs.
Seriously, how can we not love a venue that gives back to their local community?
From a styling perspective, here are just a few reasons why we recommend this as your wedding venue:
1. The team at Ovolo Woolloomooloo only accept one wedding per day
Some wedding venues host multiple wedding ceremonies and wedding receptions on the same day. Thankfully, Ovolo Woolloomooloo is not one of these (wuhoo!).
This means that you get to use the entire space at your leisure without being rushed or ushered away because of another wedding booking. It's like having your own private space on Sydney Harbour!
Your big day, your way. The way it should be!
2. Black linen is available at the same cost
Wedding stylists get excited over the most basic things but black linen works with the space perfectly. At most Sydney wedding venues, we often have to bring in our own linens because most venues only offer white linen. What this means for you is that we don't have to charge you extra! Plus, black looks freakin' AWESOME!
3. The standard chairs are black
Okay, we like black a lot. It's not very traditional but we're not very traditional. We love that the Ovolo includes black chairs as standard as they are chic AF. Alternatively, we recommend wire chairs to add to an industrial vibe. Rustic elements probably are to be avoided as they clash with the overall visual theme of the event space.
4. Generous bump-in time (from 8AM)
It takes time and a village to create visual magic for your big day - it is what we as wedding stylists wake up every morning wanting to do. However, having early access to a venue (mostly because they only have one wedding per day) makes our jobs so much easier in terms of logistics. It allows us to schedule different suppliers to arrived in a staggered approach so that we don't frustrate Ovolo staff, as well as build up your wedding styling elements peice by piece, block by block.
